My Last Shot at my Teenage Years|| Birthday 2020

I am currently writing this blog post with a ball of pounded yam in my hand, my fingertips stained with egusi and this sexy ogunfe (goat meat) staring at me, ready to be devoured and I am at peace.

These past couple of days have been crazy and empowering and in the middle of all this chaos, I’m celebrating my birthday today!

I turned 19 today and as the title of this post says, this is my last shot at my teenage years as I’m going to be welcomed into my 20s next year (that’s crazy LOL)

The fact that I am actually nineteen years old now is so crazy to me cause I still believe I am sixteen.

I’m still a baby!

I have been self reflecting these past couple of days and the thought of growing older came to me and also thoughts about where I am and where I want to be.

(I have also thought about the fact that I haven’t grown not even an inch more since forever.Yesterday, someone pointed out that my 15 year old sister looks older than me cause she’s taller than me now and I am angry 🙁 )

Time waits for no one, I have realised that.

From last year when I published my birthday post for 2019, compared to today, a lot has changed. I’ve had my ups and I’ve had my downs but I’m grateful for everything that has happened in my life.

Every failure is a lesson and I’m blessed to have overcome some obstacles and I’m glad to be where I am today

I just want to give thanks to God for bringing me this far.

As much as I am scared for what the future holds, I am equally as excited.

Once again, happy birthday Tee, you’re doing amazing🖤

Note: Birthday gifts are accepted 🙂
